New job, not so new anymore
Well, so I suck at posting. I'm just not very steady with my blogging, even though I do enjoy it. Lately this has been due to lack of time. Now things are slowing down a bit ... because Christmas is over. You see, I am now an Administrative Assistant for The Noerr Programs ... a digital event imaging company that employs Santa & his "helpers", as well as the Easter Bunny during the holidays. We have contracts with over 165 malls in 37 states, and life is busy the last half of the year! I started this new job, full time, at the end of September, and we were crazily busy from October through Christmas Eve. But I've had a great time, and love, love, love the company. I really enjoy the people I work with, and am learning a lot about how a business is run and grows as I work very closely with the founders, Philip Byrne and Judy Noerr. Our corporate office is lovingly known as "The Noerr Pole", and my desk is in the Santa Central office. I mean, I literally answer the phone, "Santa Central, this is Kristy." Who knew? I am usually the first person at the Noerr Pole who the Santas speak with when they call or email looking for a job. I ask the prelim q's like, "Are you looking to work full time or part time? What are you expecting in terms of compensation? Are you willing to travel if you were needed outside your home state? Do you have a natural beard, and is it white? If not, would you be able to get it bleached?" You see, we don't just employ any Joe Schmo off the street who has a belly and a beard. We are choosy. They have to be well groomed, not smoke, have a clean background, and remain "jolly" throughout the season. I'm learning a lot about the Santa biz. You never know where you're going to end up, or what you'll do along the way. I sure am having a good time :) Here are some pics of the costume dept, and my favorite Santa is at the top.
